According to FreightWaves, BNSF Railway has expanded its intermodal rail offerings with a new six-day-per-week service option between Phoenix and North Texas, providing shippers with additional frequency and flexibility for moving containerized freight between the two major Southwest logistics hubs.
The expanded service reflects growing demand for reliable rail alternatives in the intermodal market, as shippers seek to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce transportation costs. BNSF's increased frequency on this corridor is expected to support growing e-commerce volume and strengthen logistics connectivity between Arizona and the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, a key distribution center for the South-Central United States.
By adding capacity on this route, BNSF is positioning itself to better compete for freight traffic while providing customers with more scheduling options to align with their inventory management and distribution strategies.
