CMA CGM, one of the world's largest container shipping lines, has announced a strategic partnership with Stonepeak, a leading infrastructure-focused private equity firm, to establish United Ports LLC. According to FreightWaves, the joint venture will oversee terminal operations spanning four continents, positioning the partners to strengthen their collective footprint in global maritime logistics and port management.

The partnership combines CMA CGM's extensive shipping expertise and operational capabilities with Stonepeak's investment prowess and infrastructure management experience. By pooling resources through United Ports LLC, the two entities aim to optimize port operations, enhance supply chain efficiency, and capitalize on growing demand for containerized cargo handling across key international gateways.

The multi-continental terminal network reflects the partners' ambition to expand their presence in critical shipping hubs worldwide. The venture underscores the growing trend of shipping lines partnering with infrastructure investors to secure long-term port capacity and operational control amid intensifying global trade dynamics.
