Orderful, a supply chain software company, has closed a $35 million Series C funding round aimed at overhauling Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems that underpin logistics and procurement operations across industries. According to CEO and founder Erik Kiser, the current EDI infrastructure has remained fundamentally broken for 40 years—not due to technical impossibility, but because the industry lacked the conviction to undertake a comprehensive redesign from the ground up.

EDI platforms have long served as the backbone for automated business-to-business communications, particularly in transportation, retail, and manufacturing. However, the technology's aging architecture and complex integration requirements have made system updates difficult and costly for enterprises reliant on these networks. Orderful's approach targets this gap by offering a modernized alternative to the service models that have dominated EDI for decades.

The Series C round underscores growing investor interest in supply chain modernization, as companies seek to replace legacy infrastructure with more agile, cloud-native solutions. Orderful's funding enables the startup to accelerate product development and expand its go-to-market efforts, positioning itself as a viable alternative to traditional EDI providers that dominate the sector.
